Big Brother 9 was not the only thing drastically affected by that huge twist; the power rankings are completely different than they were last week. Going to an individual competition was a stay of execution for some and a serious blow to others. It’s obvious that some people in the house were helped by their “soulmate”, while others dragged their loved one down into the gutter with them (*ahem*Jen!*ahem*). Here’s how I have them ranked this week:
- Ryan—By becoming the new Head of Household, he went from the electric chair to the king’s throne in about 15 minutes. I always thought that the only people stopping Ryan from being a serious contender were Jen and Allison. We’re about to find out if I was right.
- Sharon—First it was Jacob, then Joshuah. Here’s another person who will be helped by being detatched from her “soulmates”. She’s very smart and very level-headed. I’m loving how she’s playing Matt like a puppet.
- Matt—He’s smart and he’s popular, which makes him a threat. He has two problems, though. He’s the most athletic guy in the house and he’s the most manipulative. If he “overplays” the game he may find himself on the outs really quickly.
- Chelsia—She and James are the one couple that I don’t think were effected by the twist either way. They were strong players before the twist and I think they’ll stay that way. It wouldn’t surprise me if these two stick together from here on out.
- James—See Chelsia. He would be higher on the list if he stopped talking trash behind people’s backs. Dropping all of those conspiracy theories would help as well.
- Natalie—She may be one to suffer a bit due to the change in the game. She’s not going anywhere in the immediate future, but she’s ridden Matt’s coattails to a degree thus far. Does she have the game to stick around to the end? Will her strength among the girls be a plus or a minus?
- Adam—Another beneficiary of the lastest game twist. Now that his fate isn’t intertwined with Sheila’s, the well-liked Adam can only benefit.
- Joshuah—He’s got some grey matter, but the character flaws are just too much. He’s a gossip, he’s quick to judge, he flies off the handle, he’s quick to burn bridges and he’s over-the-top dramatic. It’s too many hurdles for him to jump in order to win.
- Sheila—She’s been spreading the drama really thick from the start and she’s not the most popular girl in the house. I think that she’s used Adam’s likeability as a life preserver so far. Now that she’s on her own, will she sink or swim?
The game starts anew on Sunday night. Tune in again Tuesday for a preview of this week’s action! Enjoy!
