Donald Trump took a page out of Sesame Street’s playbook on Thursday. This week’s Celebrity Apprentice was brought to you by the number two.
Two, as in the number of hours the two teams had to create a sandwich, that they would sell at Quizno’s. Trace and Stephen had yet another good idea, coming up with Empresario’s Prime Rib Cowboy Club. Doing very funny Piers imitations, they also correctly predicted that Hydra’s sandwich would have something to do with boxing. Okay, that’s like predicting that Scooby and Shaggy will go one way to look for clues while Fred and Daphne go the other way, but I still got a kick out of it. Sure enough–Piers, Carol and Lennox came up with the Champ sandwich.
Two, as in how many dollars each sandwich would cost, and….
Two, as in the number of hours they had to then sell the sandwiches at Quizno’s. As if he’s defying my preview of this week’s show, Trump took away Pier’s big advantage. He is not allowed to use his wealthy contact and sell his sandwiches for $100,000 each.
Two, as in the number of major advantages that Hydra had going into this challenge. Even with Piers’ number one weapon out of commission, Hydra had an extra member and much more star power. As he said in the boardroom, Trace would clean up on this challenge if it was in Memphis. In New York, Lennox Lewis is a bigger draw.
Two, as in wins as project manager for Lennox. I was a little surprised to hear Carol say that Lennox was a good project manager, and that he made the decisions he had to make. If those decisions included letting Piers organize everything while he served as the marketing tool for the task, then yeah. He did great. The bottom line is that while both teams did well, Hydra just keeps on winning. Lennox now has 2 wins as project manager, just like Carol and Piers.
Two, as in the number of British contestants now in the final four. It was a tough boardroom for me to watch, as I like both Trace and Stephen. Even while facing Trump, neither person threw the other under the bus. Trace said that he made all the decisions and that the buck stopped with him, while Stephen sung his praises. After desperately looking for a reason to fire one person over the other, Trump decided that Stephen dug himself into a hole in the weeks before this challenge and he just couldn’t dig himself out of it. Stephen was gone, and now it’s down to the Brits, the model and the cowboy. But not for long.
Two, as in the number of people that will be fired at the start of next week’s show. Trump called the final four into the boardroom right after Stephen left, and closed the show by saying that two of the four would be fired right now. Only the two remaining would battle in the final challenge before the winner was announced. I look forward to the Piers vs. Carol match-up.
Two, as in how many more weeks you’ll have to endure these power rankings, previews and recaps. I hope you’ll come back and visit again next week, as we hit the home stretch! Enjoy!
